ALL ABOUT
MRS. MCDONALD
MRS. MCDONALD
Mrs. McDonald began her teaching studies in 1979, in the province of Ontario. Since she loved working with very young children, she took an Early Childhood Education program at Niagara College for two years. She worked in a daycare for one year, returned to school and achieved her BA and B'ED in Child Studies at Brock University. She moved to Alberta 17 years ago and worked in the Hinton community both at GRCCS and St. Gregory Catholic school. Focussing on educating children in a Catholic faith environment was important to her. She is presently working on her graduate masters diploma in Religious Education at Newman College. This is her 28th year of teaching and she has had the pleasure of instructing students from junior kindergarten to grade twelve during this time. Wow! Time sure flies. She loves teaching and feels especially blessed this year to be working with this age group of eager learners in kindergarten. In addition to her teaching assignment at St. Gregory's, she is also an assistant principal as well as an inclusive education coordinator.
On a more personal note, she is married to a wonderful man, Shane, and has two sons, two daughters and two grandchildren with a third on the way! She also has four pug puppies, two angel fish and two bala sharks. When she's not teaching, she enjoys reading, camping, studying, going to church, and travelling. Her family, teaching as well as working towards her masters degree keeps her very busy!
