Happy Creek Learning Center opened it's doors for the first time in August, 2015. It was an exciting process to evolve into the learning facility we presently have! With the dedication of our staff, it was a dream which finally came true.
The summer of 2015 was a busy one filled with moving of equipment and materials as well as the the knocking down of walls which led to the expansion of the main kindergarten room and a hallway leading to the gross motor room. A spare classroom was turned into an art room which was opened and made available not only for our kindees but for the other grade levels in the school to enjoy as well.
Happy Creek Learning Center staff would like to acknowledge our Evergreen Catholic School Division Board of Trustees as well as Division Office and thank them for approving our changes and showing their faith in us. We'd also like to thank all of our volunteers who donated their time and helped along the way including our educational assistants, Mrs. Linda Stennes and Mrs. Lindsey Braucht; our school secretary, Mrs. Ludwig; our school parents, Mrs. Amanda Parker, Mr. Alex Snow and Mrs. Marlene Goranson as well as Mr. Leigh Mckort, Mr. Tristan Overy and my family. A special thank you goes to my husband Mr. Shane McDonald, who built the wooden tables and weaving frame for the art room as well as the mini tables for the doll house center.
Most of all, I'd like to thank our teachers, Ms. Lee Ann Cross and Miss Nicole Woloszyn who believed in the vision and devoted their summer in helping to make it come ALIVE!! Last, but certainly not least, we'd like to thank our Principal Mr. Fafard. Without his support, this could have never happened.
